The Creative Curriculum®
Introducing your children to new areas to explore and providing them opportunities to learn at a young age is one of the most important steps that you can take toward setting them up for long term success. Here at Little Stepping Stones, we are committed to providing your children with mentally stimulating, exciting, and fun opportunities throughout their learning lessons and playing time! We do this by utilizing The Creative Curriculum®.
The Creative Curriculum® is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features hands-on, project-based investigations as a pathway to learning. We know that children construct their understanding of the world from their active involvement with people, materials, and ideas. Allowing them to explore, make choices, manipulate objects, transform items, and experiment is what Little Stepping Stones curriculum is all about.
Sign Language, Spanish, and the GetSmart S.T.E.M
Enrichment Programs
In addition to The Creative Curriculum®, we offer enrichment programs geared to provide educational experiences to enhance children’s learning in our program. Our enrichment programs include Sign Language, Spanish, and the GetSmart S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Enrichment Programs
Here at Little Stepping Stones, we use a program called Signing Time® to teach children sign language. Signing Time® is an award winning sign language series that teaches children of all ages through music, stories and interactive activities. Infants and toddlers learn signs earlier than words, as a result they can communicate more effectively at an earlier age. Actions help children to retain the words because there is muscle memory involved. The more senses involved with learning the greater retention your child will have.
Did you know that before the age of six, young children are more receptive to learning language quickly and easily? Little Stepping Stones introduces Spanish to children through songs, stories, activities and play. Researched has shown that children who learn a second language show stronger problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
Little Stepping Stones uses best-in-class S.T.E.M. inspired educational experiences that are woven into our curriculum. S.T.E.M. empowers children with the skills to succeed and adapt to this increasingly complex, changing technological world. Skills attained through S.T.E.M. education include problem solving, critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, decision making, leadership, and more.
